Water is a fundamental element of each location, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes including hydration for plants.

Spread Mechanics
Water spreads on flat surfaces in a circle across 6 tiles. In trenches, water can travel up to 25 blocks (lava: 12). At low level, trench distances are reduced to 12 blocks for water and 6 for lava.
Water Sources
Primary sources are where water originates — removing them eliminates all connected water. Secondary sources appear after drops and can be removed without permanent effect.
Cliff Flow
Water placed within 4 spaces of a cliff drop flows toward it in straight lines with two-block width, rather than spreading outward. Lava behaves differently — it spreads on the second tile while heading toward cliffs.
Water Levels
Hold ZL to adjust water between standard and low levels. Low level reduces puddle size and trench distance. Low-level water never targets cliffs.
